One of two championship title bouts topping the UFC 266 pay-per-view (PPV) event this Saturday night (September 25, 2021) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will pit incumbent featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski against top 145-pound challenger Brian Ortega.
Flyweight rivals Valentina Shevchenko and Lauren Murphy will be joining The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) coaches. “Bullet” will be defending her championship for the sixth time against the “Lucky” Alaskan, who earned her route to a 125-pound title opportunity by winning five straight fights, two of which ended in violence.
Despite the fact that UFC 266 features a pair of high-stakes championship bouts, most of the buzz surrounding this weekend’s “Sin City” spectacular has concentrated on Nick Diaz’s comeback. After defeating “Ruthless” in April 2004, the former Strikeforce 170-pound champion will rematch with ex-UFC welterweight ruler Robbie Lawler.

UFC 266: Volkanovski vs. Ortega prediction
Make every effort to avoid using MMA math in this situation. Volkanovski has a 2-0 record against Max Holloway, who crushed Brian Ortega.
Ortega, on the other hand, has progressed significantly in the striking department since being ripped apart by Holloway almost three years ago, while Volkanovski may be said to have lost both of his battles against Holloway in 2019 and 2020. And these two boxers are polar opposites of Holloway.
Volkanovski is a complete behemoth who uses his wrestling and strikes to completely dominate his opponents. Ortega is a finesse fighter who combines incredible submission abilities with striking that seems to get better with each bout.
